Buy me an island please
Revised: February 2, 2006Ok, I had to calm myself down once I foundout how cheap islands actually are before I could post this. I say cheap, but ?244,859.86 for the island pictured below is awesome To quote the website it is a? 340 acre private island in lake Huron, big enough to build a private landing strip, helipad, etc.
The island is located beside a large Island to the west, giving some shelter from the westerly winds. The Island is well treed with cedar, spruce & some birch. The shoreline is rocky and pebbly. There is an ideal building site at the northwesterly, sandy point of the island with beautiful views to the south, west and north. There is enough room for a runway on the island. A helicopter can land at the Point. Access by boat is from a Marina about 45 km away.I
I have always dreamed about living in canada, as well as my "pipedream" has always been to own an island. Now both are plausable and "affordable". So what would I do with my new island if I were to have my own island? Well I would have my own little castle built inland with a nice woodland path down to my facourite beach, where closeby there would be a boat dock so I could get to the mainland. Maybe have a small road built around the island, but built in a eco friendly manor. The island is big enough to have a wind turbine on one end far enough away from my castle so as not to bother me with noise. Then having a small village somewhere on the island would be cool, somewhere where friends and family could live 
I dont know what we would do for work, but there is plenty of fish in the sea so food wouldnt be a problem, and the land looks fertile enough. Self sufficiency would be cool
