I just got my copy of Custom PC today and while flicking though it i found there folding.stanford page rather interesting. They say if you get 20,000 points you will get in their magazine. Well I currently have this server, my personal performace pc and a laptop running it. Im hoping by the end of the week to have two more pc's running it. This effort I shall keep up 24/7 for a month just to see if I actually get anywhere. If I do then I may keep it up until I go back to uni in september. Its not just for publicity, the folding.stanford project is pretty cool in what they are trying to achieve and I would emplore you to join up too
So yes, the main reason behind me telling you this, is that it may effect server performance. I havent noticed it myself and I dont actually believe that it would or should. But the server is currently under 100% load with load averages of 1 – 0.7 – 0.34.
