‘Night Out’ a Photolog

Revised: February 4, 2007

It has been a very, very long time since I have actually lived up to the student stereotype. As both myself and Joey mostly prefer nicer events such as coffee out, cinema, the zoo and random trips to nowhere in particular (Blackpool, Birmingham, London, etc) we had never thought to go clubbing or even to a pub past certain times at least not in Coventry. In the last week however fate, that marvelous thing, changed everything… forever.

It all began, I think on Thursday and although several events prior to that actually led upto the events on Thursday; for the purpose of simplicity we shall state that Thursday was the beginning of this revolution. With that established I shall continue with excessive and mildly entertaining dialogue of the past 80 or so hours.

Above you can see Myself, Steve and Joey in ‘The Oak’ a usually very crowded pub in Coventry, it was quite by chance that we met up with Steve, Sharon and ‘the others’ they were with. We had thought that it was about time we got out and about after hours and check out the Coventry scene seeing as we usually went for Birmingham or Leicester at night. I had parked up and we were on our way to Browns when Joey got a text from Steve asking if we had just walked past the Camble, doubling back we met up with them and sat down inside for drinks and chatting. It proved to be a very, very interesting night full of much drinking and laughter.

During that night in ’The Oak’ this intriguing chap sat down and joined us, by the looks of it he was very much intoxicated and a laugh, it was noisy and I was paying more attention to laughing at his actions than understanding why Joey and Sharon where hi-fiving the guy you can just make out Joey’s hand in the image and the guys very bemused facial expression.

With all that said, I shall move swiftly on to Saturday night while briefly taking a few seconds pause to explain what happened Friday night. Friday after video, Joey and myself disappeared to Leicester for filming of ‘Joey Brannigan Episode Four’ I must admit this was one of the harder to film episodes as the day went on slowly due to lack of viable subjects to whom we could chat with on camera. However after a day of filming and a night of editing we got the bitch turned out and published for the world to watch, it only took us 8 hours from start to finish to churn out another 10 minute long episode, go on beat that, I dare you! Friday night was more of a celebration drink as we sat down in Browns to have a quiet one. Unfortunately some drunken cnt decided that all wouldn’t be quiet, he is now subsequently bared from Browns and a good thing that is too.

During Friday night, I do believe it was Friday night… we met Joey’s look-alike I don’t have much more to say on this subject except that they do look remarkably similar, no wonder they get mixed up by people on the street.

Without further ado I shall progress this tale onto the events that passed last night (Saturday) the most epic night of the week so far. Joey needed to get out, I didn’t feel like going out, however when a friend is in need one must do ones best to be accommodating. So I drove over and picked him up from where we both headed towards ‘The Colosseum’ (from now on referred to as ‘The Colly’) this is the last place we would both be seen in and I hadn’t been there in well over a year, it was to prove itself to be the one place we should have been heading to all the time - at least on Saturdays! We ended up meeting many awesome people that night, many who we knew or who knew us somehow, so many that I have since lost count it was however an exciting evening enjoyed by both of us.

As you can see from the above photo, we were very bemused at the events that evening. ‘The Colly’ once place we shall be frequently spotted at ;)

A little addition

Just to add to the Photolog today we went out of town to Birmingham for a little shopping trip. Joey wanted another jacket, however decided against it while I decided I had already spent too much and so I wouldn’t spent any more… I bought a starbucks, oh dear.

On our random wanderings though the many varied clothes shops we discovered some funky looking overalls/dungaree in Top Man. They actually fit me better than any other pair of jeans that I own and where a hell of a lot more comfortable - however the hefty price tag put me off randomly buying them and so we left Brum with me buying nothing more than lunch. However I am now unsure as to wether it would have been a good purchase if I did have the money, although I still think I could pull of wearing them and still look mildly cool ;)

All in all its been a fantastic week both in respect to work and play, it’s not often you will hear me say this but I am looking forward to Monday!
