Hard Work

It’s been a crazy few weeks, so many things have been happening. Meaning I haven’t been able to keep up with posting on here once a day. I have to write five academic film reviews as coursework for university, they are relatively easy to write and only have to be 500 words each so I am having to go though about 5 revisions each so as to include all the relevant theory and analysis.

The films that I am having to review are: King Kong(1933), Battleship Potemkin(1925), Bicycle Thieves(1948), Citizen Kane(1941) and Vertigo(1958). This is no small task, however at the same time it’s not that difficult. I spent four hours the other day working on my response to King Kong and had it mostly finished I am going to be spending this Saturday working on Battleship Potemkin and possibly Bicycle Thieves if I get time I want to get them all knocked out by next Friday so I have a few days spare to add to them if anything seriously at fault is found. I still have 10 or so excepts from books to re-read for them too. Some would say this is hard work, but to be honest this is minimum requirement of University Work and when held in context is quite easy.

Alongside all this I have my Video group project to work on. It has been riddled with problems and setbacks this term. Mostly because we are undertaking a project entirely in the professional sphere and that means a jack load more work than before. This term being split up into 5 person groups we have been set the task of shooting a five minute long drama, the spec requires us to use professional actors and have everything recorded in a professional manor with each member of the group being designated a role such as Director, Director of Photography, Editor, Assistant Editor and Sound Engineer.

Not wishing to sound like a bragger but having worked with my group for a year and a bit I believe us to be one of the best in the year. Always pushing the boat out a little bit further to produce something spectacular and working very hard together as a tight knit production team. If I were to be doing this as a job I can’t think of better people to work with and alongside. It’s nice to be proud of your work, it’s nicer to be proud of your team!

More updates shall be coming soon, I have just got to get all the work out of the way, in the mean time you can check out my online comic. I finally got a domain for Orange Land and spent an hour or so developing the back end. You can see it here: www.orangeland.co.uk. A commenting system shall be written in soon when I get a spare five minutes.

Photogabble is evolving all the time, so check back for more :D
