Alarm Clocks

I get up most mornings at 8am regardless of the time I went to bed, most the time when I get a good nights sleep my body knows when to wake up and I usually get up five to ten minutes before my alarm goes off however this has not always been the case. I often work long days, late into the early morning sometimes not getting to bed until past three in the morning. On nights such as these no number of alarm clocks can wake me up in time to get things done that I should be doing. This is where the internet came to the rescue, I searched for a simple alarm clock to be run in the background that would play an mp3 at a time I gave. I found the College alarm clock by Vinod Tandon which does all of those things and more.

Fortunately it also works under x64 windows, or at least running an mp3 does, the beep and cd functions wont work for me. However that’s no big issue as all I wanted was to play an mp3 really loud every morning to wake me up. There are however some problems with the application, I have found that sometimes itunes wont load from it unless I press the test button first. I think this could just be a case of me leaving my computer on too long and it getting cranky with me as it doesn’t normally happen.

Thanks to this application I am up most mornings on time, but then again who wouldn’t be with Rage against the Speed suddenly being played loud enough to be heard down the street.
