I’m slightly confused over why people feel the need to post long text posts in tumblr, don’t we have blogs for such things? I see tumblr as being the next stage up from twitter in the micro blogging world, where if a post is too short or too insignificant for a blog you post it to your tumblr. Maybe tumblr has moved on from this to become the next wordpress.com where people can come and host their blog advert free for free, either way I find it an annoyance to have my dashboard cluttered by excessively long posts. BTW I consider anything over say 300 words to be too long for tumblr, a post of that length really deserves to be posted to your blog. Then again, I could be wrong, would be nice to start a discussion on this subject.

I guess I don’t understand why you would say this when you’ve already connected your blog to auto-post to tumblr. I just see it as being another channel of distribution and not necessarily limited to a certain length.
Just my take.
I would just like to “3rd!” what the other two comments have stated. I think full-content feeds to Tumblr would be fantastic. I auto-post from my blog to Tumblr and would love to have the full content feed displayed.
hmm
Yes and No. I like the user submissions, and see Tumblr as part of a strategy. But if you want a publication instead of a newsfeed of content, it makes sense to see tumblr as part of staged strategy in both time and content…but thats just me
