These shots by photographer Andrea Klarin have been well thought out with so far as their composition, colours and framing however the amount of light used seems excessive and rather than giving a nice light and airy scene, it provides an experience similar to glare of the sun on a windscreen – you can see detail is there but its a little too bleached out.

However with that said one is able to see through the excessive lighting to a scene containing beautifully dressed models with stunning figures and most importantly modelling talent; the poses they are set in appear to be natural and the body language composed while speaking the right language for the scene.

One thing I will say in favour of the lighting is that it does give a boost to the contrast given by shadow and colour within the frame, even the pale pink dresses being worn shows up against the bright background with the two models hair: auburn and blonde like yin and yang next to the glowing background of windows and lamps.

I would class these photos as part  of a fashion shoot, the make-up is quite natural and the little that has been used draws focus upon aspects of the models bone structure and eyes although it is hard to tell if that’s done by the lighting rather than make-up. The clothes look as though from a fashion walkway, much like you would see in a magazine giving each item and their exorbitant prices for the audience to aspire to. Each outfit has been matched with a set pose by both models to give certain connotations telling “micro-stories” to the audience, indeed one might contend in saying the lighting ruins these shots instead bowing and agreeing that it indeed adds to the scene in a way that is positive.

I initially viewed these on some picture blog months ago with no source and have since through researching their filenames found both a original source and artist to attribute and congratulate. Initially I hadn’t liked the lighting, although the scene is beautiful and the models stunning let alone the clothes they wear and the beautiful long legs they flaunt, the lighting had seemed a little over the top, however I can agree, although not entirely, to its use this time.

The origina source was from photographer Andrea Klarin and you should certainly go and check out her other photography at www.andreaklarin.com
