The above is just one of many pieces from Roger Arquer’s 2006 work called Fish Bowls; the entire series which Roger painstakenly made by hand, are intended to show different relationships between certain beings, items and connotations from there-of. Take the above image for example, does it not question the relationship between a big and small fish living together? Or instead of questioning it, simply explain it withing as compressed a form as we can understand? I love the above fishbowl for that very reason, its private spaces, its visible seperation; however set up it may be by the photographer and artist it speaks on many levels about several issues without really settling upon one.
