Well encase those of you who found this where wondering, P2P-IRC is still up and running, its just that when chasingsol and ambrosia left the network he took with him the domain name.
[chasingthesun] ambrosia and I have decided to leave P2P-IRC. Our time has come that we need to move on. We will be de linking our servers and the hubs that we run. We don’t know what is planned for the network, but we will not be a part of it. I wish everyone the very best of luck in the future. Take care.
[seethe42] We’ve gone through a bit of a rough patch in the past few hours. Mark and ambrosia have unfortunately decided to leave the network. We apologize for the splits and confusion caused by it, since their departure was with little warning, but things are stable for now. P2P-IRC is still alive; we are not going away. The existing staff is working to rebuild the network. Thank you for your continued support.
It is pretty understandable chasingsol leaving, running the irc network cost a lot of money and I guess it just got too much to manage. Unfortunately though when they left they brought the network down and the remaining staff have been working hard trying to keep things running as normal as possible.
The one real big problem remaining is that www.p2p-irc.net doesn’t resolve to the actual remaining p2p-irc servers, therefore anyone attempting to connect though that domain name would not get very far. So for those of you looking for it, here is the ip addresses for the servers so you can connect.
[Firon] Seeing as how irc.p2p-irc.net wont resolve anymore… Please connect directly to the servers for the time being, and tell your friends. 66.252.30.123 and 82.165.145.57 are the ones you can use.
They have a temporary domain set up at irc.p2p-radio.net and the server ip addresses are 66.252.30.123 and 82.165.145.57.
Hope this helps someone.
